| Gas Heaters
|
The energy market
in the Central Florida area is structured economically by
the fact that there is no "home grown" energy.
|
|
|
All propane, natural gas and oil supplies are essentially
imported to many areas of the nation. The areas for production and refinement being far removed from point
of usage. This means that specifically natural gas and
propane are priced above other areas of the country
closer to the source. Few neighborhoods are piped for
natural gas and that leaves propane as the only choice
for many areas. |

Gas Pool
Heaters
A
typical gas heater is constructed of a
metal cabinet enclosing a burner assembly, heat exchanger
and assorted control valves, safety valves, temperature
control and vent stack. the incoming water is heated by
the open flame and returns to the pool after the heat has
been transferred. the typical heater has an initial
efficiency of 70-75 %, but this declines with time as the
burner ages and the heat exchanger builds up deposits
from the water.
The new models have an
electronic ignition system instead of the standard pilot
light assembly. This saves the cost of burning the pilot
light when the heater is not in use, and prevents the
potentially hazardous duty of re-lighting the pilot
light.
